Expanding to St Kilda

Experience two weeks of atmospheric, seductive and soul-stirring entertainment as the Melbourne Cabaret Festival arrives in St Kilda!

Support from the City of Port Phillip has helped us to stage several fun shows locally. We're working hard to enliven Fitzroy Street in the traditionally quieter winter period and bring in hundreds of sophisticated cabaret-loving audience members to that iconic village.

Our venue is a brand new complex for the arts, the incredibly exciting Alex Theatre St Kilda.

Amongst show gems happening at the Alex Theatre will be our Opening Gala hosted by Rob Mills, and we're converting the Alex studio space into a cosy plush cabaret salon for both weekly and late night events.

Here's a summary of the St Kilda shows, all of which are now on sale!

Experience highlights of multiple shows from across the festival in the one extravaganza, hosted by Rob Mills and a sizzling line-up including:

  • the fabulous Queens of the City - more feathers, more frocks and a whole lot more fun! Hot guys, sexy girls and 3 screaming queens! Featuring internationally-renowned stars Simoana Luvzit, Emma Roids and Frayda Cocks singing your favourite hits live.
  • the premiere of a new partnership between two of Australia's best vocal accapella groups, Suade and Ginger & Tonic, with eight part harmony perfection (and more than a few laughs).
  • international cabaret competition winner and serial first dater Noni McCallum.
  • musical terrorists and multiple Helpmann and Green Room Award winners Jacqui Dark and Kanen Breen.
  • Peter J Casey sings about vasectomies, asylum seekers and Spiderman.
  • award-winning Annie Lee (Kransky Sisters) will introduce you to “a part of theatre history that is little known in this country” (Curtain Call) in a beguiling homage to the Weimar era and a story of intrigue and surprise.
  • special guest Dolly Diamond.

Join us directly after the show for an hour to mingle with the stars at our Gala After Party, hosted by Dolly Diamond.
